Video clip confirms fraud at Osun poll – Omisore

                                                                                         Senator Iyiola Omisore

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in August 9th, 2014 election, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has said the proported video which was made available to the public is an evidence that the All Progressives Congress rigged the governorship election in the state.

Omisore, whose petition to challenge the victory of Governor Rauf Aregbesola at the Election Petitions Tribunal was recently dismissed spoke to our correspondent in Osogbo on Saturday through his media aide, Mr. Victor Oriola.

The media aide said that the video which showed how some persons were thumb printing ballot papers for the APC candidate had been around for some time.

He said, “The whole world will know that we were not making frivolous allegations. The election was massively rigged and that was why Senator Omisore went to the tribunal.

“The tribunal dismissed the petition but the appeal is there. What is shown in the video is a confirmation that the election was rigged. It is there for everybody to see.

“APC thugs were seeing thumb-printing for their candidate and they are now cooking up excuses to cover their criminal act. It is unfortunate that they could go to that extent to rig the election. What they did in the secret has been blown open now.”

The video, which was made public by Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, has attracted mixed reactions from different quarters.

The Chairman of the APC in Osun State, Mr. Gboyega Famoodun, had on Friday at a press conference threatened to sue Fani-Kayode if he refused to tender a public apology over the video.

The APC leader described the video as a concoction of the PDP to hoodwink some undiscerning persons.

Famoodun said the APC had written to the police and the DSS to investigate the video but was surprised that security agencies refused to take any action on it since November 17, 2014.

He stated that the party through its lawyer, Mr. Daud Akinloye, had written a petition to the security agencies but the two agencies had refused to act on it.

“We are therefore demanding for an independent Judicial Commission of Enquiry into the entire process leading to the Osun Election. We demand an exposition of all that happened two weeks to the election, the night before the election and on the day of the election up to the announcement of election result the following morning, he said.
