The Nigeria Football Federation has fired Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, despite the team’s 3-1 victory over Sudan yesterday.
Assistant coaches, Ike Shorunmu and Daniel Amokachi have also been fired, Premium Times reports.
An expatriate coach is to be appointed for the team after the conclusion of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches. In the meantime, a consortium of coaches will guide the team for the remaining two matches (against Congo in Brazzaville and against South Africa in Uyo).
According to reports, the consortium will be led by Amodu Shaibu, Salisu Yusuf, Gbenga Ogunbote and Aloysius Agu.
The NFF is said to have thanked Keshi and his assistant coaches for services rendered to the country, and promised to pay them all money they are being owed within the next two weeks.
