Christopher Nolan will never make a comedy

Los Angeles - Christopher Nolan will never make a comedy film.

The acclaimed director has revealed that he doesn't think he is cut out for the genre because it is so difficult to make people laugh.

The filmmaker explained: "I would try anything, I think, except comedy or romantic comedy, those are very tough genres to work in."

The 44-year-old director - who has just released space exploration movie Interstellar, which stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Sir Michael Caine - insists shooting a comedy would not film would not be a welcome challenge, because it is so easy for viewers to slate a comedy which isn't funny.
