                                                                                                    Bola Tinubu

President Muhammadu Buhari has attributed the triumph of the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 general election to the vision of a National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Buhari said this in a recorded tribute which was presented at the 8th Bola Tinubu Colloquium in Abuja on Tuesday.

At the event, which was held to commemorate the 64th birthday of Tinubu, the President said the former governor of Lagos State was the brains behind the merger of Nigeria’s main opposition parties in 2013.

                                                                              Tinubu, Kachikwu

There are strong indications that President Muhammadu Buhari has initiated moves to forestall the escalation of the festering feud between the All Progressives Congress National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr. Ibe Kachikwu.

The PUNCH reliably gathered on Monday that Buhari believed that Kachikwu’s statement and Tinubu’s criticisms could tear the party apart.

It was learnt that the President had therefore cautioned the APC chieftains and  members of his cabinet against taking sides in comments and issues that could divide the party and derail his government.

Dame Shirley Bassey has blasted Beyoncé for her skimpy Met Ball dress.
The 78-year-old Goldfinger hitmaker has said she doesn't understand why modern singers feel the need to "see who can wear the skimpiest outfit", rather than focus on their talents, having seen the 33-year-old Crazy In Love superstar's barely-there bejewelled dress.

Dame Shirley said: "It is like they are all in competition with each other. Who can wear the skimpiest outfit? I mean come on"

"When I saw Beyoncé at the Met Ball the other night I was like, 'excuse me?' I think you have to leave a lot to the imagination.

President Jacob Zuma has returned to South Africa after completing his two day state visit to Mozambique, the presidency said on Tuesday.

In a statement, spokesperson Harold Maloka said Zuma and Mozambique President Filipe Nyusi held successful talks and discussed issues of mutual interest, in particular, bilateral, regional and continental co-operation.

"The issue of co-operation was high on the agenda and both presidents agreed to establish a binational commission which will enable continuous monitoring and implementation of decisions taken," Maloka said.
