                                                                         Joke Silva

Veteran actress, Joke Silva, is one of the few actresses that have somehow found a way to defy time with her ageless beauty. In a recent chat with Saturday Beats, she shared the secret of her beautiful looks.

She said, “I have so many young people around me. My younger colleagues and kids refuse to allow me grow old. I remember Kate Henshaw insisted I must join instagram. Now I am on instagram all because of Kate Henshaw. They keep me young.”

Dickson in the eye of the storm

Unfolding scenarios in the political development of Bayelsa State indicate that Governor Seriake Dickson’s bid to return to the Government House in 2016 is not a fait accompli, writes Simon Utebor

The ability of Bayelsa State Governor, Mr. Henry Seriake Dickson, to ride roughshod over all opposition in the state will determine his political survival and his return for second term.

Nigeria must not lose Jordon Ibe – Ene Okon

The Nigeria Football Federation should focus on persuading Liverpool’s rising star Jordon Ibe to commit his international future to Nigeria, says former Super Eagles midfielder Ene Okon.

Senegal ’92 Africa Cup of Nations bronze medallist Okon believes Ibe will bring out the best in the likes of Mikel Obi and Emmanuel Emenike if the 19-year-old midfielder is encouraged to switch his international allegiance and play for Nigeria. He says the country cannot afford to lose any more   talented players to Europe after the likes of Bayern Munich defender David Alaba and   Schalke 04 midfielder Sidney Sam opted to represent Austria and Germany respectively.

Ferguson, Mourinho will struggle to succeed in Nigeria – Dimeji

He was one of the exciting talents at the 1987 FIFA Under-17 World Cup but the world began to take more serious note of Dimeji Lawal’s talents when he helped Nigeria win silver at the Under-20 World Cup in Saudi Arabia two years later.

The left-sided midfielder was relatively unknown before hopping on the plane with his young colleagues for the long trip to North America, but the Golden Eaglets coach Brodricks Imasuen believed that Dimeji could be a potent weapon for his team in Canada as the left-footer had proved to be a gifted attacker in national youth tournaments.

And Dimeji is grateful to the youth development structure in the country which helped him in his career.

I will be Oyo’s first two-term governor –Ajimobi

Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi tells OLUFEMI ATOYEBI that teachers in the state are living better than he met them. He replies critics of his administration that compared with past regimes, he has performed better

Your administration has been criticised by some people for not living up to expectations in Oyo State, how would you react to this?

In the corporate world where I belonged for so long, we need not blow any trumpet to announce our achievements. Records are always there to do that. But what I realised is that in the political world, you must not only perform, you must also learn the trade of making people see what you have done.
