Redeemed Pastor Abducted by Boko Haram Escapes 10 Months Later



A Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor who was kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents 10 months ago escaped from Borno on Tuesday.

According to Sahara Reporters, the pastor, Rotimi Obajimi, was serving in the rural area of Borno/Yobe. One day, while on his way to Maiduguri, on January 6th, the insurgents abducted him and took him to Sambisa forest, where he was held captive for many months.

Archbishop of Jos Opposes Discrimination Against Gay People


The Archbishop of Jos, Ignatius Kaigama has spoken out against the unfair treatment of gay people in Nigeria, stating that the Nigerian Catholic Church is opposed to discrimination against people because of sexual orientation.

He made these remarks during a press briefing at the Vatican on Wednesday, The Tablet reports.

Chris Okotie calls for Oritsejafor’s Resignation as CAN President over $9.3 Million Scandal


Head pastor of Household of God Church, Chris Okotie, has called for the resignation of the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ayo Oritsejafor, over the $9.3 million arms deal scandal, which his private jet was involved in.

He expressed his thoughts in a write-up on the Church’s Facebook page titled –  “$9.3M Scandal: Oritsejafor Should do the Right Thing.”

Nigeria Has Successfully Contained Ebola, US Hopes To Learn From Their Response

According to information from the CDC updated on Oct. 7, Nigeria has been downgraded to a Level 1 watch by the organization because of the decreased risk of Ebola transmission.

Nigeria's success has grabbed attention from U.S. officials hoping to prevent transmission of the virus in America, after Liberian Thomas Eric Duncan was diagnosed with Ebola in Dallas. On Wednesday, Duncan, 42, died at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. The CDC is sending researchers to Lagos, Nigeria's largest city, to study how the country was able to control the disease.
