Three-year-old boy stabbed to death in China


Beijing - A three-year-old Chinese boy died and a girl was seriously injured when a knife-wielding woman attacked the children on Sunday, media reported, the latest in a series of assaults against youngsters.

Police detained the suspect, who was aged about 40, and seized a kitchen knife and a dagger, Xinhua news agency said, adding that inquiries revealed she may be mentally ill.

The injured girl, who is aged nine, is being treated at hospital, it added, citing local authorities.

Kim Kardashian West bans sugar from North West's diet


Los Angeles - Kim Kardashian West has reportedly banned sugar from her daughter's diet.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, who is married to rapper Kanye West, is said to have created a list of "forbidden foods" for their 16-month-old toddler, North, and has worked out a daily organic menu with a chef.

A source said: "Sugar is at the top of Kim's list of forbidden foods. She thinks dessert is just a recipe for disaster.

Bill Cosby won't address sex claims - lawyer


Los Angeles - A lawyer for Bill Cosby says the comedian will not dignify "decade-old, discredited" allegations of sexual abuse with any comment.

In a statement released to The Associated Press and posted online, attorney John P Schmitt said the fact that the allegations are being repeated does not make them true.
He doesn't intend to "dignify" the allegations with a comment.

Bafana qualify for AFCON 2015


Durban - Goals from Thulani Serero and Tokelo Rantie either side of half-time secured South Africa's passage to next year's Africa Cup of Nations, beating Sudan 2-1 at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Serero was instrumental in creating both, rounding off a move he began eight minutes before half-time, before turning supplier for Rantie, with a terrific through-ball which the striker buried high into the net eight minutes after the break, sending Bafana Bafana soaring into an unassailable four-point lead at the top of group A.

Nigeria revive AFCON hopes


Abuja - Defending champions Nigeria beat Congo Brazzaville 2-0 on Saturday to revive their bid to qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations as South Africa and Cameroon ensured their presence in the finals.

South Africa beat Sudan 2-1 in their first outing since the slaying of captain Senzo Meyiwa to top Group A, while Cameroon edged past DR Congo 1-0 to claim Group D.
