DSS Arrests NTA Employee over Alleged N50 Million Bribe Demand


The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly arrested an employee of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) for allegedly demanding a N50 million bribe from the Niger State government.

According to PM News, the accused, 28-year-old Sampson Oghenedoro, warned that he would broadcast a story on purported fraudulent activities within the government if he was not paid N5o million.

Police Defuse 2 Explosive Devices at University of Uyo


The police command in Akwa Ibom said it had defused two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) found in the male hostel of University of Uyo (UNIUYO).

Confirming the incident in Uyo on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Etim Dickson, told newsmen that the explosives were home-made.

Ten additional Boko Haram terrorists surrendered to troops at Kawuri in Borno on Sunday, security update posted on Defence Headquarters’ (DHQ) website said on Monday.

It said that the terrorists, who voluntarily gave up, had been taken into custody for necessary security debriefing.
