Jonathan welcomes support on terror war

                                         

President Goodluck Jona­than yesterday welcomed the greater support for the war against terrorism from Nigeria’s neighbours.

Speaking at an audience with Mr. Emmanuel Issoze Ngondet, a Special Envoy of President Ali Bongo Ondim­ba of Gabon, President Jonathan also applauded the renewed and heightened commitment of Niger, Chad, Benin Republic and Cameroon to joining forces with Nigeria to rid the West Af­rican Sub-Region of the scourge of ter­rorism and violent extremism.

Redeemed Pastor Abducted by Boko Haram Escapes 10 Months Later

A Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor who was kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents 10 months ago escaped from Borno on Tuesday.

According to Sahara Reporters, the pastor, Rotimi Obajimi, was serving in the rural area of Borno/Yobe. One day, while on his way to Maiduguri, on January 6th, the insurgents abducted him and took him to Sambisa forest, where he was held captive for many months.

Archbishop of Jos Opposes Discrimination Against Gay People

The Archbishop of Jos, Ignatius Kaigama has spoken out against the unfair treatment of gay people in Nigeria, stating that the Nigerian Catholic Church is opposed to discrimination against people because of sexual orientation.

He made these remarks during a press briefing at the Vatican on Wednesday, The Tablet reports.

Chris Okotie calls for Oritsejafor’s Resignation as CAN President over $9.3 Million Scandal

Head pastor of Household of God Church, Chris Okotie, has called for the resignation of the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ayo Oritsejafor, over the $9.3 million arms deal scandal, which his private jet was involved in.

He expressed his thoughts in a write-up on the Church’s Facebook page titled –  “$9.3M Scandal: Oritsejafor Should do the Right Thing.”
