Ronaldo refuses to rule out United return

Former Red says he could move back to Old Trafford in the future as Real Madrid prepare to meet his former club in Michigan.
Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to rule out a return to Manchester United. The 29-year-old, who left Old Trafford in 2009, was linked with a move back last summer before signing a new long-term deal at Real Madrid. He's under contract at the Bernabeu until 2018, by which time he'll be 33.

But asked ahead of Real's clash with United in Michigan whether he could ever see himself returning to the club he joined from Sporting Lisbon in 2003, the Portuguese forward claimed anything is possible.

Usain Bolt powered clear in the home straight as Jamaica won the Commonwealth Games 4x100m relay, with England claiming silver.

Bolt picked up the baton in second place, but the fastest man of all time had no problem overhauling England's Danny Talbot to win in a Games record time of 37.58 seconds.

Jason Livermore, Kemar Bailey-Cole, who won the 100 metres on Monday, and Nickel Ashmeade ran the first three legs but all eyes were on Bolt, the 100 and 200 metres world record holder.

Commonwealth Games - England's Adams makes history again in women's boxing

England's Nicola Adams won the first ever women's boxing gold medal at the Commonwealth Games on Saturday, repeating the feat she achieved at the Olympics two years ago.

 The 31-year-old boxer is on an incredible journey since rocketing to fame at London 2012 and with Rio 2016 in her sights, she is not stopping any time soon. Adams was made to work hard on Saturday afternoon in Scotland, edging a split decision against Michaela Walsh from Northern Ireland to top the podium.

In doing so she became England’s first female Commonwealth boxing champion and with Rio 2016 now less than two years away, Adams insist her journey is far from over. "There will be a lot of threats in Rio, everybody wants to beat Nicola Adams," she said.

Manchester City are out of the International Champions Cup at the group stage after losing to Olympiacos in a penalty shootout.The Premier League title holders were beaten 5-4 on penalties, after the game finished 2-2 after 90 minutes.

City finish the pre--season tournament in the United States on five points in Group B, but go out of the tournament as they are behind Liverpool on the head-to-head.Brendan Rodgers’ side therefore progress to Monday’s final in Miami, Florida.

Pellegrini: Lampard will join Manchester City on loan

Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that Frank Lampard will join Manchester City on loan from New York City.

Although the club have not yet officially announced the deal, City boss Manuel Pellegrini confirmed on Saturday night that the England midfielder, who signed for City's sister outfit New York City FC this summer ending 13 trophy-laden years at Chelsea, will join up with his team on Wednesday.

With the 2015 Major League Soccer season not starting until the spring, there was speculation that Lampard would head to Melbourne City, the third club owned by the City Football Group, on a short-term deal.

But following the friendly against Olympiacos in Minneapolis, Pellegrini confirmed the 36-year-old will now move to the Etihad until the new year before the next American season begins in March.
